A maximum of 500 persons are allowed in the trail per day. One needs to book in advance and passports are checked at entry. The trail is one-way only. You cannot reverse back from Machu Picchu After crossing the Urubamba, the trail climbs gently and stays parallel to the river. We first stop at a "football field" (looks like one, not sure if anyone plays here) for our first "talk" by the guides. |
