Runcu Raccay (3800m/12464 ft.)

A small, circular site discovered by Hiram Bingham when he was searching out the entrance roads to Machu Picchu. It was explored in more detail in 1940 by Dr. Paul Fejos, who thought it was a tambo, a rest-place for passing travellers. Some people think it was a guard post
