Sunday, 2:26pm: Note the hiker in the lower left quadrant. You can see why it would not be very difficult to get lost on this trail, specially in the dark.
Dayhikers, who climb Whitney and return in a single day, start well before dawn to summit before noon. They would be traversing these sections in near darkness.
